Obituary

Smokey was born on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation in the spring of 2018 and not long after squirmed his way into the family of The Revds. Jason & Myra Hess. He had many affectionate nicknames, including such favorites as Momo, Mo, Smokers, Smoka-Doka, and Fatbutt.
He was both a snuggle monster and a great companion, and even though he was only a dog, he was a great example of God-honoring masculinity. Some will think that's weird to say of an animal. However, he was incredibly loyal, obedient, sensitive, loving, and craved community. Though a part of him was chicken, he was brave, and he had no qualms about speaking in a loud voice to alert and defend his pack. And if it came down to it, he had the determination and strength to follow through.
He truly was a good boy.
Rest well, Smokey.
