In loving memory of our sweet girl Layla 2007 – 2022

From the first day that we brought her home from the animal shelter in 2008 she was always a kind and gentle pup. She filled our hearts with joy after the recent loss of our previous pup Niki.

Layla was never much for toys or playing fetch. She would much rather have a pat on the head or back scratch. Not much excited her except for food, treats, and people. Ziggy our other Lab came to be a companion for her a few years later full of energy and mischief and yet she tolerated him. We will never forget when she got sprayed by a skunk. We felt so sorry for her, and she just couldn't understand why we wouldn't let her back in the house or why she kept getting baths every day for a week.

She was a wonderful companion, gentle, and kind. She was diagnosed with a tumor in November 2020 and was not expected to survive much longer. However, she defied the doctor and seemed to be doing just fine until a few weeks ago when she suffered a seizure. Her mind began to slip away after that and with just 2 weeks shy of being 15 years old she passed.

You will be missed sweet girl, thank you for all the years of companionship and love that you gave us. Rest in peace "Happy Tail" until we meet again.
